OUR SPACES

Rehearsal Rooms

Our isolation and recording booth, nicknamed The Cabin, is designed for serious musicians, drummers and producers who want to take their craft to the next level in a professionally designed environment.

The Cabin comes equipped with:

  • A full drum kit, with breakables included.

  • An 8-channel audio interface.

  • High-end studio monitors.

  • A selection of instrument microphones and XLR cables.

  • A mixer and headphone amplifier.

We also offer secure on-site storage for members who prefer to bring their own equipment.

As a Blimp Rehearsal Room member, you'll have access to two huge rehearsal rooms with over 35sqm of space, plus a third spacious 25sqm studio.

Every room comes fully equipped with:

  • A professional PA system, microphones and XLR cables.

  • Premium backline, including guitar and bass amps.

  • A full drum kit, with breakables (snare drum and cymbals) included.

  • A weighted stage piano.

You'll also find thoughtful extras like phone holders for filming rehearsals, dry wipe boards for planning ideas and setlists, and wall-mounted guitar hangers to keep your space organised.

Our rooms are optimised for acoustic performance, while also providing a great backdrop for filming rehearsals and creating content.

Members can also rent one of our secure on-site storage lockers, with enough space to store all their gear.

Charlie, Google Review

"Switching to blimp totally changed the game for us as a band who were once lugging our stuff around for every rehearsal and spending too much money on studio time! I can’t recommend it enough"

Fernanda, Google Review

"I honestly couldn't recommend Blimp more highly. If you're looking for a well-equipped, well-managed rehearsal space with a great atmosphere, this is the place".

Vaughan, Google Review

"Brilliant studio, in quality & concept"

How Does it Work?

Blimp is like a gym membership, but for rehearsal rooms.

Instead of paying by the hour, you pay a simple monthly membership and get up to 20 hours of studio time every week, including guaranteed access to "peak time" (evening and weekend) slots.

All our rehearsal rooms are fully equipped and ready to play — with premium amps, quality drum kits with breakables, professional mics, PA systems and stage pianos.

You can choose a regular fixed slot or book on the fly, giving you the freedom to rehearse when it suits you.

We get it. Most bands won't use 20 hours every week. But, even for bands who practice just once a week - Blimp is better value than paying by the hour. Members can also use the studios for solo practice time, side projects and ramping up your rehearsal schedule before a recording session or a tour.

We offer: More access. More flexibility. Much better value than paying by the hour.

FAQ

1. What is Blimp Studios?

Blimp is a membership-based rehearsal studio and music practice space in Hackney, East London. Instead of paying to hire rehearsal rooms by the hour, members pay monthly and get regular access to our fully equipped studios.

2. How much rehearsal time do I get?

Members can book up to 20 hours of studio time every week, including guaranteed slots at peak times (evenings and weekends). You can choose fixed weekly slots or book flexibly as you go.

3. How does booking work?

At Blimp, you’re in control. Members book their own rehearsal and practice sessions through a shared Google Calendar. You can also choose to have a regular fixed slot that you 'own', or just book on the fly whenever you need the studio.

4. Can I book a one-off session?

No. Blimp is designed for bands and musicians who rehearse regularly and want a permanent rehearsal base. Membership gives you much more studio time than traditional hourly rehearsal room hire.

5. Where is Blimp Studios?

We're in Hackney, East London, a few minutes' walk from Hackney Central and London Fields stations.

6. Are the rehearsal rooms fully equipped?

Yes. Our rehearsal rooms include professional drums, guitar and bass amplification, PA systems, microphones and keyboards, so you don't need to bring a full backline every time you rehearse.

7. Can I store my equipment at Blimp?

Yes. Secure storage lockers are available, so you can leave instruments and equipment at the studio rather than carrying everything to every rehearsal.

8. Can I use Blimp for individual practice?

Yes. Members can use the studios for solo practice as well as full-band rehearsals, subject to the normal booking rules.

9. Can I use the studios 24/7/365?

Yes. Blimp members have 24/7 access, so you're not restricted to conventional rehearsal studio opening hours.

10. Can I try Blimp before committing?

Yes. You can start with a trial month, giving you the chance to use the studios properly before deciding whether membership is right for you. If it isn't working out for any reason, you can leave at the end of your trial without giving notice.

11. After my trial month, do I need to give notice to leave?

Yes. But only 1 month. Members can give notice on or before the first day of any month to leave at the end of that month.

12. Can I park my car / bike?

Yes. We have off-street parking and a bike lockup area available.

13. How do I join?
